I was touring Scottish castles with the wife as our involvement in the 'war' began and ended. Of note, despite it's advantaged location the Edinburgh Castle was taken. By force and by stealth. (Similarly, I believe the big deck carrier will be as relevant to a war with China on day two as our dreadnoughts were on December 8.)
Spectacular beauty. Amazing stonework. Grand, old architecture and art. But, there's some sense of 'we couldn't build a city like this now - and now are taxed to even maintain it '...
Unlike then, now Edinburgh has Palestinian flags in the crowds and extremest graffiti ...
This was a center for leadership in Christianity ...
but, now sports a 'pastorix'(?) in John Knox's pulpit ...
and 'gay pride' flags on the roof of his church.
The vibe here is not merely atheist, it's pagan.
Which means the rot in the south will, inevitably, come north ...
Sigh. And don't say it can't happen here ...we're already well along.
