Death by bloat

From the mid-70s to 2019, which spans my middy summer at Mayport (spent on an oiler built in 1945), three tours wearing the loop in Jacksonville between 1977 and 1997, and 20 odd years subsequent as a contractor and civil servant, the Admiral's staff at NAS Jacksonville changed roles, but progressively  decreased in real authority and responsibilities. The Admiral's job shifted from operational (wartime role as an ASW Region Commander while Soviet nuclear armed subs were patrolling) and combat force support (type wing commander), and immediate superior in command for bases spanning from Panama to Florida to, essentially, property management in the Navy's southeast states.

During that time the staff swelled in size from approximately 60 to over 300.  It moved from the first floor of a handsome 1940s administrative building to displacing a data center and more.

Has that been representative of the Navy as a whole?

Well ...

According to Silverstone' s “US Warships of World War II” in 1945 the US Navy was comprised of 3,600 named vessels plus thousands of additional craft bearing numbers only, such as Landing Ships,  Sub Chasers, and Patrol Torpedo (PT) boats.

Fahey's “The Ships and Aircraft of the US Fleet” reports that in June 30, 1945 the US Navy had “40,417 serviceable aircraft”.

Unlike today, in WWII Naval shipyards were not merely refitting and repairing ships, they were building ships. They were major shipbuilders. Their efforts included such complex products as  the Iowa class Battleships in Philadelphia, New York, and Norfolk Navy Yards, 2 Essex class Carriers in New York Navy Yard, and the Midway Class Carrier Franklin D Roosevelt in New York Naval Yard,

3,600 substantial ships, thousands of others, over 40,000 aircraft. and a major shipbuilding enterprise.

And all run with 219 Admirals.

Today the US Navy website provides biographies of 294 Admirals plus 367 'flag equivalent' Senior Executive Staff' creatures (the Carter era bureaucratic building blocks of what we now recognize as the  'deep state').

This cadre of 661 flags and 'flag equivalents' lords over a force comprised of approximately 275 significant ships and something in the neighborhood of 3,111 combat aircraft.

That's three times the number of senior 'leaders' attempting to manage a force one thirteenth the size of the Navy that successfully fought a global war.

Is this anything like the profile of a fighting force?  A combat focused lean organization?

Is this administrative behemoth providing better ships for the dwindling operational force? Anyone who studies the LCS and DDG 1000 disasters knows the answer to that.

Perhaps this bloat is one of the major contributor to the state of 'today's Navy' discussed earlier on this blog.

Wheeling down memory lane

I am increasingly aware of a pronounced difference between most men, especially the career military, of my generation and those of the '(mis)information age'. We are not the ogres folks like The Young Turks like to make us out. We just have significantly different foundational experiences and frames of reference. Gaming computers and hacks were not our thing.

For my $.02, growing up in the 60's and 70's was a blessing. As kids and teens we played hard, outside, and out of sight of the old folks. Once we got a license we found twice owned muscle cars were affordable, repairable, and parts in ready supply.

It left its mark. Some guys of our period still sometimes speak of, and remember, others by what they drove or rode. We'd see someone and ask – 'hey, wasn't he the Chevell with the ladder bars'? Or, 'oh yeah, you're the green Evo bagger with the straight pipes'.

So here's a recollection of some of the vehicles that got me here.

                                                   stock photo

The Beginning – 1965 GTO ('family' car) <> Introduction to driving. Also introduction to illicit racing and traffic court. Did learn to drive fairly well – but lost license 2x.

Co-pilot on one such encounter was later a career cop and detective. Once, after a colorful high speed chase and successful arrest he remarked to a partner the experience 'wasn't as bad as riding with Greg'.

                                                        stock photo

Mustang Mach I <> First real vehicle owned outright . Mechanical nightmare when driven as I had come to expect from the GTO. Push rod penetrated valve cover on a missed shift. Shifter subsequently had the temerity to attempt to depart the vehicle (in motion) from the bottom. 'Muscle car' my ass. Super model looks, peewee Herman stamina.

Thanks to road adventures which I'll not bore you with, by late teens my official record was somewhat spotty. Thereby I recall sitting in a room with dozens of other young men at a joint processing station and filling out my first government form, sort of a request for background check before consideration for military service (think 'Alice's Restaurant'). When I reached the little box under the header 'have you ever been arrested or fined - provide details below' I broke into a sweat … and asked for more paper (!). When done I gave the form to one of the officers supervising the process and asked - with a little tremble in my voice - 'will this hurt my chances'. He (a Naval Aviator come to think of it) looked at the remarks briefly and said, 'hell, this will help!'

God bless him. I knew then I was headed generally in the right direction.

VW 1600 'Super Beetle' <> Old reliable. Driven countless miles, and through many adventures as an Ensign out to see the world. Rebuilt in a BOQ parking lot with minimal tools and a Hawaiian Punch can. I remember driving my boss, the Admiral, shortly after the rebuild. Proud moment. Unfortunately it was before rebolting the passenger seat to the floor. Ooops. Event came to mind listening to Paula Poundstone reflecting on the significance of a seat back in her Mustang. (5:05 to 6:52 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk0coCISibA )

Dodge Power Wagon <> 'Miss Piggy' Brutal ride. During the 'fuel crisis' demonstrated MPG like a F-4 Phantom … with loaded triple bomb racks ... in burner ... at 100' AGL.

Triumph Spitfire <> Sigh. Should have learned from an earlier GT6 project. Socialist quality construction with peanut brittle wire harness and amusing bits of ingenuity like the 'laycock de normanville' electrically actuated (did I mention the Lucas wiring?) overdrive. To the good, a rag top - so happily easy to push start and hop in over the door as it chugged away from you.

Pontiac Grand Am <> Hoped to relive good old GTO days. Would have restored. Rot got ahead of available idle time.

Jeep Wrangler <> First jeep. Solid as a rock. Rough as a lady Bos'n. Bought without niceties … like a roof or doors. Aftermarket rag roof was crude, blew off in a rain storm while wearing dress blues. Aftermarket hard top/doors made it a solid year round ride.

VW Fox <> Right size. Right configuration. Uninspired and uninspiring.

Jeep Wrangler <> Second jeep. First months were disappointing. Was communicating with factory rep while documenting 'lemon law' claim. Finally Jeep Corp resolved the problem. Mexicans were sloppy with wire terminations. Had several other similar jeeps self immolate like a Buddhist monks due to overlapping wire strands left out of the crimps on termination plugs.

After that, really great car. Boys did not like 'bogging' the swamp though.

Buick Le Sabre <> Thought it was a good idea for a post active duty career as salesman. Neither the car nor the job fit.

Nissan Frontier <> Mighty good vehicle. Nearly 10 years ~100K miles.

VW GTI <> Best car ever. Sporty (vice fast) and a sun roof. Sold to obtain a newer clone with less miles as was on I-35 a lot while geo-bacheing.

VW GTI <> Almost best car. Including the wife's Jetta, our 5th VW. May be our last as VW no longer cares to offer a 2 door or sun roof however. Why can't we here in 'merica not get an 'R' spec Sirocco?  In blue, with sunroof? https://www.oto.com/en/mobil-baru/volkswagen/scirocco/r

Still, GTIs have been great cars.

One gripe with this last one, which brings us back to the opening comments, this car came equipped with really intrusive electronics. Constant GPS tracking, 'black box' recording driver activity, and VW's idea of 'on star'. Small print in contract explored after purchase indicated conversations may be monitored remotely. Cost to have dealer hard wire disable ~ $500. Cost for toggle switch for microphone ~$6 and some solder. Guess which way I went. Paranoid? Two days after I put the switch in VW called me at work and wanted to know if anything was 'wrong' with my car. I guess the folks at the monitor station missed my witty commentary on other drivers. Recently noticed there's now a soft switch option for turning off telemetry which wasn't there before the last dealer service visit. Thanks, but I'll also keep the mike off when I don't need it. (I've a faraday bag for the cell phone under the seat)

Musings.

Maybe 1 car to go before checking out.

2 Wheelers

Can't afford a military jet or a supercar? A bike is just as dangerous at a fraction of the cost

About the time I found myself doing less and less air wing flying I began looking for a, mostly, legal alternative to the excitement.

CB-750F <> Purchased ~ '88 (bought used) Wonderful old 'super bike' of the 70s by then considered sedate and 'dated'. Great first bike. 2 'oopses' learning to ride. Both in Daytona a year apart. Only 1 was particularly scary (truck bumper stopped just over the noggin).

CBR-600 <> ~ 90  A Jack Russell on 2 wheels. Inadvertent wheelies and always moments from an intensive care unit. Did catch 'air time' thanks to crossing an armadillo at warp speed. Fell in with some nice regular touring riders and, on occasion, some crazy ones.

Triumph Trident 900 <> ~ 93 A bull. Stable, strong and comfortable for hours. At will easily able to embarrass the Harley riders in the group.

VFR-750 ~ 97 to 2015 <> Vehicular Apogee. Most comfortable and fastest (150 mph readily on tap) ride I've owned. Easily, even unconsciously, spanned the state more than once. Hated to sell but, in retrospect, the right move. 1 mid-speed low side on sandy twisty, 1 embarrassing topple (jeans cuff snagged foot peg) at a busy, biker infested donut shop no less. Sigh.

TaoTao 150 <> ~ '16-20 Zero adrenaline but wanted to stay acclimated, cheaply, to 2 wheeling. Filled that niche well enough for ~ $800. 9 ½ horse, 52 mph. The scooter came semi assembled in a crate. I was happy it went together so nicely and subsequently posted a picture of riding it. Quick response from one classmate, a MARSOC O-6, was 'nice – do they make one for men?'

Sigh.

Denouement?

Yamaha SR400 <> ~ current. Unapologetically modest. Roughly ¼ the HP and ½ the speed of the Viffer. Max is 80 mph with wind at back. But still copious fun for mind clearing, relatively short rides. Light and uncomplicated, does local rural Texan unpaved roads easily.

And in all honesty, with the forecast for diminishing SA (situational awareness), vision, and balance ... probably my last bike.

They've all been great fun, zero regrets.  And there's no app for that.

We have met the enemy and he is us

Outer Limits (1963 TV series) episodes "O.B.I.T." is an
episode of the original The Outer Limits television show.
It first aired on 4 November 1963

"Shadow gate" told its audience the who and the what.  Remarked on Aug 15 - relevant  link here:

https://www.bitchute.com/video/kuwko3YFiQ0f/

This old piece tells you the where:
https://theintercept.com/2018/06/25/att-internet-nsa-spy-hubs/

Slightly dated now - but the details line up correctly with the larger story in "shadow gate' including:

“You can essentially trick the routers into redirecting a small subset of traffic you really care about, which you can monitor in more detail,”

"NSA had been intercepting the communications of “non-target United States persons and persons in the United States,”

"sweeping up people’s emails if they had merely mentioned particular information about surveillance targets."

Ethics, and common sense wise, the technology rapidly outpaced oversight.

We use to focus collection on 'targets'.  Inadvertent intercepts were destroyed.   It appears that subsequently, instead of targeting  collections, we began to collect everything we could, because we could.  Everything went into the barrel. (said barrel now having a storage capability undreamt of until recently
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/jun/14/nsa-utah-data-facility )

'Privacy' was theoretically protected by the requirement to have a 'FISA' warrant to winnow details on a specific individual from the barrel.

Now we know what a total joke the FISA process was.

And we also know for certain that 'contractors' cared little for the niceties of law and regulation.

What was stored became politically irresistible to evil, power hungry politicians.

Just ask Comey and Brennan.

This 'OBIT' like monster is now a greater threat to Americans than any enemy foreign or domestic.  It facilitates Communist Chinese level control on individuals.

Rx.  Cut the plug, re engineer a target centric process and seek approval from THIS president (who uniquely well knows the grave risks involved) before implementing anything.

Oh, and free Snowden.

PS - the same goes for the private IT megalomaniacal entities, like Google.  Too much intrusiveness, abuse of power to influence elections, we need be done with all that.

Wonder why this is happening?

There is a point at which the implacably dumb race/gender/etc.'sensitivity' training. the totally intrusive and manipulative 'Shadow Net' (described 8/15/20), and the Burn Loot Murder/Anti(fa)American violence in the street converge.

Michael O'Fallon spells it out for us here - https://sovereignnations.com/2020/07/02/systemic/

Forecast - warning issued for post election

Revisiting a topic first discussed March 21st.

I am not a criminal lawyer, a law enforcement officer, or close quarters combat instructor.   That said, I do follow some developments more closely than many and have spent a good share of  the twenty years immediately following active duty either enjoying recreational and competitive shooting or professionally involved with weapons large and small - and the safety considerations and other impacts related there to.  I attended the NRA Range Seminar and was a NRA Firearms Instructor. So, like anyone, I have opinions on 'security', mine filtered through a lens of backstops. training incidents, and observations of folks of all descriptions on ranges.

Happy clients in Mississippi

There are a number of reasons to expect more than a few 'common' citizens will have to resort to lethal force - or, at the least a demonstration of the willingness and ability to apply lethal force - in the coming months.

Among them:

A. The marxist BLM/ANTIFA violence is now spilling out of the cities and into neighborhoods.

 https://nypost.com/2020/08/14/seattle-blm-protesters-demand-white-people-give-up-their-homes/

and,

B. Despicable politicians are intentionally preparing the environment for a civil war.  Consider -
"Hillary Clinton doesn’t want Joe Biden to concede the presidential  election “under any circumstances,” even if initial results aren’t in his favor this November.
https://twitter.com/TrumpWarRoom/status/1298037266632323073  The streets of several cities are already ablaze.  She is telling us the results will be contested - regardless.

So, aware the web is already overfull of potbellied LARPers with their pet solutions to everything, and  of my limited experience, for a common Joe or Jane I offer only 3 thoughts.

 1. "Hitting with a .22 beats missing with a .44."  - anon   Which weapon is a matter for informed decision making.   Here's an example of the info available, https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/best-bad-situation-22-self-defense/ .  For most folks unfamiliar with guns I'd agree with the conclusion -  "....38 Special loads from a full-size //revolver// handgun".

2. "Use enough gun"  R. Ruark  "But not too much" - The Gaffer   In the context of the legitimate use of a firearm in a home situation the remarkable penetration ability of projectiles can engender catastrophe.  How far will an AR-15 shoot?  A 12 GA shotgun?   How many layers of wallboard will your gun penetrate?  And, conversely, 'where in my home am I most safe from shots from outside'?   I've recently had to live in both a rather modest apartment and a solid, stone house.  Research this topic before buying your .50 Barrett - or box of 00 buckshot - the ammunition being as important as the gun itself  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaR1EVybUgc

3. "Owning a handgun doesn't make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician." - Jeff Cooper.  The atrocious display of incompetent gun handling by Mrs McCloskey illustrates the point.  Had any of the armed members of the mob engaged - and been even minimally competent - one, or both of the McCloskeys would not have appeared at the Republican convention.

Having the experience of waking from a deep sleep to a home alarm, in the dark with kids in the hallway and  'clearing' the house room by room with a loaded handgun I agree with the 'rabbi' above.  The familiarity and confidence I had with the pistol, the same I competed in IDPA type events with for years, provided a means to see to the security of the family without the gun itself adding to the hysteria.  And, the .45 was certainly vastly superior for the task to a golf club, tear gas spray, or 'sheltering in place', relying on the dubious security provided by wallboard and thin interior doors.
As it happened, it was a large limb torn from a tree hitting the window in the living room that apparently tripped the alarm.  The adrenaline was real.

Bottom line, research, equip yourself appropriately to your terrain and situation , have a plan, and train.

God bless the republic.

With 'friends' like these...

Intro comment

My personal education on the damaging effects the Israeli government and lobby have on our national defense came while assigned to an intelligence center in the early-mid '80s. My point is not to indict all members of a specific faith, but to illustrate the proven track record of Israel damaging US citizens interests and national security.

Pollard

During my time in DC Pollard was an Israeli spy.  I saw him frequently in passing.  Israel was trading critical US defense secrets obtained for them by Pollard to the Soviet Union - at the very height of the cold war - in exchange for the emigration of talented Russian jews to Israel (where did you think their clever defense manufacturers came from).

Unsurprisingly Pollard was allowed to move to Israel by Obama. This was done over the objections by literally everyone in the intel communities who understood the critical need to pose a disincentive to further Israeli recruiting within their ranks (-think Ms Maxwell (below)). Israeli considerations to the Obama organization in return for for the release has not been made public.

Players in the Pollard affair include intelligence chief and PM Barak. As described by Mrs Pollard in her petition “The petition maintains "that because [Barak] has all the documents and knows the truth about [Pollard's] espionage in the US but has failed to publicize it, this has made it impossible for [Pollard] to defend himself" in the US.” https://www.jonathanpollard.org/1999/090899.htm

Barak. one time head of Aman, the Military Intelligence Directorate

And Pollard's attorney, the ever present Allan Dershowitz. https://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/137689

With the fall of the Soviet Union Israel shifted in trafficking critical US defense secrets with the new greatest threat to mankind - Communist China.

LAVI Fighter

“In the 1980s, the U.S. partnered with Israel to develop a new combat aircraft based on the General Dynamics F-16. But as costs rose, the U.S. pulled out of the deal, leaving Israel’s “Lavi” fighter unfinished. Years later American officials discovered that Israel sold the Lavi’s development plans to China, granting them unprecedented access to technologies first developed for the F-16.”

The J-10 figures prominently in the Chinese Air Force and is a direct threat to US Navy and USAF assets in the western pacific as the likelihood of a war increases.

Patriot Missile

The Patriot Missile is a vital anti aircraft and anti missile defense system for US forces. As reported in the link below “These units, the most advanced Patriot system had only been supplied to nation, Israel.” And Israel was caught covertly shipping a number of them to China.

9/11 and discovery of widespread Israeli interference in US anti-terr effort within US

HUME: “Carl, what about this question of advanced knowledge of what was going to happen on 9/11? How clear are investigators that some Israeli agents may have known something?”

CAMERON: “Well it’s very explosive information obviously and there is a great deal of evidence that they say they have collected. None of it necessarily conclusive. It’s more when they put it all together a big question they say is, ‘How could they have not known?’ — almost a direct quote, Brit.”
Note – the above quote was in the Fox News report – I watched it several times and commented on it at the time. It now is missing from many of the videos on the internet.

Note also Cameron reports that when the FBI would begin 'wire taps' of suspected terrorists the terrorists would often change their profile, negating the tap. If one is curious if Israeli intelligence could have a communications channel with individuals they know are moslem terrorists they ought research the case of Nick Berg.

Sounds like a nice jewish kid from Philly. Oh, he worked on the communications for the Republican Convention … interesting.

Moussaoui used Berg's e-mail address” - in point of fact Moussaoui had a 'q anon' type channel with the likely Israeli agent Nick Berg.

Israel clearly felt it more important to drag the US into a shooting war with their moslem opponents than assist the US in preventing the deaths of 2,977 Americans.

Israeli disinformation and the casus belli for a enormously expensive war.

“Mr Rumsfeld and his deputy, Paul Wolfowitz, mounted an attempt to include Iraq in the war against terror. When the established agencies came up with nothing concrete to link Iraq and al-Qaida, the OSP was given the task of looking more carefully.” “It // forged close ties to a parallel, ad hoc intelligence operation inside Ariel Sharon's office in Israel specifically to bypass Mossad and provide the Bush administration with more alarmist reports on Saddam's Iraq than Mossad was prepared to authorize. (All of which doesn't discount a very successful (for Israel) misinformation campaign by Israeli Military Intelligence to commit US troops into a war against Israel's enemies)

Epstein

Yes, that makes sense. Everyone around Epstein was a HUGE Russia supporter – Dershowitz, Wexner, Maxwell, Barry Krischer and Epstein himself. Just look at their philanthropies. It screams RUSSIA! https://t.co/X8v3OD4M0L
— a VERY sarcastic Ann Coulter (@AnnCoulter) August 10, 2019
The prostituting of young American girls in order to blackmail stupid US decision makers, influencers, and scientists is grotesque. One of the most dogged reporters on the issue, from well before Epstein's arrest in 2019 was Anne Coulter. She made it clear who Epstein worked for. She was on to him twenty years ago and noted no reported ever adequately reported on him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f51h52dqZ14

Putting the plain truth in full view is this report attributing Epstein/Maxwell to Israeli Military Intelligence - as though there's a difference in the distinction to the young US victims and politicians being blackmailed. https://www.zerohedge.com/political/epstein-case-documentaries-wont-touch-tales-intel-ties

There are a host of disinformation efforts at work concerning Epstein. Lies within lies and portions of the truth to validate the whole. Below is one of the better explanations, buyer beware.

And, as this is about Israeli intelligence, showing up again – Barak, former head of Aman, the Military Intelligence Directorate.

Married Israeli politician Ehud Barak is seen
hiding his face entering Jeffrey Epstein's NYC
townhouse as bevy of young beauties were also
spotted going into mansion – despite
his claim he NEVER socialized with the pedophile and his girls”

Barak.

And Dershowitz. Again.

I also might offer that Assange, a key player in debunking the 'russia hacked the DNC' myth may want any other attorney than Dershowitz, whose success for Israeli spy Pollard would not have been complicated by his compromise by Epstien and Maxwell.

https://worldcrunch.com/world-affairs/alan-dershowitz-why-i-am-defending-julian-assange
Harvard Law professor Alan Dershowitz as one of the people Jane Doe #3 was trafficked to

02

Isn't it interesting how Ann Coulter rapidly fell out of favor in the circles of power subsequent to her associating Epstein, Maxwell with Israel. Obviously this is mere coincidence.

As will be her unhappy suicide if she presses on with the subject.

That's a summary of events I was aware of.

Conclusion

The Israeli government, under a series of PMs, has left little doubt they are NOT our 'friend'. I wish the nation of Israel no ill will because of it's ethnicity, but I do want all relationships between governments severed and reestablished acknowledging it is a nation that has repeatedly damaged US interests and hosts a hostile intelligence service.  They are, in effect, North Korea - albeit with a gay affirming tourist trade.

UPDATE - 8/21   President Trump clearly has a different opinion.  I know that.  And that is dangerous.  Does he really know what he should?
Right now, and for reasons well documented earlier in this blog, the MOST important things he SHOULD be doing is:
A. a Presidential Declaration authorizing HCQ/Zn use when prescribed by any doctor in America AND,
B. have Barr announce indictments against Comey and co conspirators, like Brennan.
Hell, he could even have said Barr will look into the suspect charges against Bannon.
But no.
Instead we get this fluffy thing on Breitbart.

Is he aware - and stupid enough to be relying his 'friends' for reelection?

God help us.

Update 8/33/30  -  Seems that by coincidence Hillary picked the name of a Maxwell clan member out of a hat for a state department position.

Footnote

Below is an interesting (if somewhat dated) summary from 'WhatReallyHappened.com”

1947. Information collected by the ADL in its spy operations on US citizens is used by the House Select Committee on Unamerican Activities. Subcommittee Chair Clare Hoffman dismisses the ADL’s reports on suspected communists as “hearsay."

1950 John Davitt, former chief of the Justice Department's internal security section notes that the Israeli intelligence service is the second most active in the United States after the Soviets.

1954 A hidden microphone planted by the Israelis is discovered in the Office of the US Ambassador in Tel Aviv.

1956 Telephone taps are found connected to two telephones in the residence of the US military attache in Tel Aviv.

1954 "The Lavon Affair". Israeli agents recruit Egyptian citizens of Jewish descent to bomb Western targets in Egypt, and plant evidence to frame Arabs, in an apparent attempt to upset US-Egyptian relations. Israeli defense minister Pinchas Lavon is eventually removed from office, though many think real responsibility lay with David Ben-Gurion.

1965 Israel apparently illegally obtains enriched uranium from NUMEC Corporation. (Washington Post, 6/5/86, Charles R. Babcock, "US an Intelligence Target of the Israelis, Officials Say.")

1967 Israel attacks the USS Liberty, an intelligence gathering vessel flying a US flag, killing 34 crew members. See "Assault on the Liberty," by James M. Ennes, Jr. (Random House). In 2004, Captain Ward Boston, Senior Legal Counsel for the Navy’s Court of Inquiry into the attack swears under oath that President Lyndon Johnson ordered the investigation to conclude accident, even though the evidence indicates the attack was deliberate. Given the use by Israel of unmarked boats and planes, and the machine-gunning of USS Liberty’s lifeboats, the most likely explanation is that USS Liberty was to be sunk with all hands, with evidence left to frame Egypt for the sinking. This would have dragged the US into the war on Israel’s side.

1970 While working for Senator Henry “Scoop” Jackson, Richard Perle is caught by the FBI giving classified information to Israel. Nothing is done.

1978, Stephen Bryen, then a Senate Foreign Relations Committee staffer, is overheard in a DC hotel offering confidential documents to top Israeli military officials. Bryen obtains a lawyer, Nathan Lewin, and the case heads for the grand jury, but is mysteriously dropped. Bryen later goes to work for Richard Perle.

1979 Shin Beth [the Israeli internal security agency] tries to penetrate the US Consulate General in Jerusalem through a “Honey Trap”, using a clerical employee who was having an affair with a Jerusalem girl.

1985 The New York Times reports the FBI is aware of at least a dozen incidents in which American officials transferred classified information to the Israelis, quoting [former Assistant Director of the F.B.I.] Mr. [Raymond] Wannal. The Justice Department does not prosecute.

1985 Richard Smyth, the owner of MILCO, is indicted on charges of smuggling nuclear timing devices to Israel (Washington Post, 10/31/86).

1987 April 24 Wall Street Journal headline: "Role of Israel in Iran-Contra Scandal Won't be Explored in Detail by Panels"

1992 The Wall Street Journal reports that Israeli agents apparently tried to steal Recon Optical Inc's top-secret airborne spy-camera system.

1992 Stephen Bryen, caught offering confidential documents to Israel in 1978, is serving on board of the pro-Israeli Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs while continuing as a paid consultant -- with security clearance -- on exports of sensitive US technology.

1992 "The Samson Option," by Seymour M. Hersh reports, “Illicitly obtained intelligence was flying so voluminously from LAKAM into Israeli intelligence that a special code name, JUMBO, was added to the security markings already on the documents. There were strict orders, Ari Ben-Menashe recalled: "Anything marked JUMBO was not supposed to be discussed with your American counterparts."

1993. The ADL is caught operating a massive spying operation on critics of Israel, Arab-Americans, the San Francisco Labor Council, ILWU Local 10, Oakland Educational Association, NAACP, Irish Northern Aid, International Indian Treaty Council, the Asian Law Caucus and the San Francisco police. Data collected was sent to Israel and in some cases to South Africa. Pressure from Jewish organizations forces the city to drop the criminal case, but the ADL settles a civil lawsuit for an undisclosed sum of cash.

1995 The Defense Investigative Service circulates a memo warning US military contractors that "Israel aggressively collects [US] military and industrial technology." The report stated that Israel obtains information using "ethnic targeting, financial aggrandizement, and identification and exploitation of individual frailties" of US citizens.

1996 A General Accounting Office report "Defense Industrial Security: Weaknesses in US Security Arrangements With Foreign-Owned Defense Contractors" found that according to intelligence sources "Country A" (identified by intelligence sources as Israel, Washington Times, 2/22/96) "conducts the most aggressive espionage operation against the United States of any US ally." The Jerusalem Post (8/30/96) quoted the report, "Classified military information and sensitive military technologies are high-priority targets for the intelligence agencies of this country." The report described "An espionage operation run by the intelligence organization responsible for collecting scientific and technologic information for [Israel] paid a US government employee to obtain US classified military intelligence documents." The Washington Report on Middle East Affairs (Shawn L. Twing, April 1996) noted that this was "a reference to the 1985 arrest of Jonathan Pollard, a civilian US naval intelligence analyst who provided Israel's LAKAM [Office of Special Tasks] espionage agency an estimated 800,000 pages of classified US intelligence information."
The GAO report also noted that "Several citizens of [Israel] were caught in the United States stealing sensitive technology used in manufacturing artillery gun tubes."

1996 (discussed above) An Office of Naval Intelligence document, "Worldwide Challenges to Naval Strike Warfare" reported that "US technology has been acquired [by China] through Israel in the form of the Lavi fighter and possibly SAM [surface-to-air] missile technology." Jane's Defense Weekly (2/28/96) noted that "until now, the intelligence community has not openly confirmed the transfer of US technology [via Israel] to China." The report noted that this "represents a dramatic step forward for Chinese military aviation." (Flight International, 3/13/96)

1997 An Army mechanical engineer, David A. Tenenbaum, "inadvertently" gives classified military information on missile systems and armored vehicles to Israeli officials (New York Times, 2/20/97).

1997 The Washington Post reports US intelligence has intercepted a conversation in which two Israeli officials had discussed the possibility of getting a confidential letter that then-Secretary of State Warren Christopher had written to Palestinian leader Yasir Arafat. One of the Israelis, identified only as “Dov”, had commented that they may get the letter from "Mega”, the code name for Israel’s top agent inside the United States.

1997 US ambassador to Israel, Martin Indyk, complains privately to the Israeli government about heavy-handed surveillance by Israeli intelligence agents.

1997 Israeli agents place a tap on Monica Lewinsky’s phone at the Watergate and record phone sex sessions between her and President Bill Clinton. The Ken Starr report confirms that Clinton warned Lewinsky their conversations were being taped and ended the affair. At the same time, the FBI’s hunt for “Mega” is called off.

2001 (discussed earlier) It is discovered that US drug agents’ communications have been penetrated. Suspicion falls on two companies, AMDOCS and Comverse Infosys, both owned by Israelis. AMDOCS generates billing data for most US phone companies and is able to provide detailed logs of who is talking to whom. Comverse Infosys builds the tapping equipment used by law enforcement to eavesdrop on all American telephone calls, but suspicion forms that Comverse, which gets half of its research and development budget from the Israeli government, has built a back door into the system that is being exploited by Israeli intelligence and that the information gleaned on US drug interdiction efforts is finding its way to drug smugglers. The investigation by the FBI leads to the exposure of the largest foreign spy ring ever uncovered inside the United States, operated by Israel. Half of the suspected spies have been arrested when 9-11 happens. On 9-11, 5 Israelis are arrested for dancing and cheering while the World Trade Towers collapse. Supposedly employed by Urban Moving Systems, the Israelis are caught with multiple passports and a lot of cash. Two of them are later revealed to be Mossad. As witness reports track the activity of the Israelis, it emerges that they were seen at Liberty Park at the time of the first impact, suggesting a foreknowledge of what was to come. The Israelis are interrogated, and then eventually sent back to Israel. The owner of the moving company used as a cover by the Mossad agents abandons his business and flees to Israel. The United States Government then classifies all of the evidence related to the Israeli agents and their connections to 9-11. All of this is reported to the public via a four part story on Fox News by Carl Cameron. Pressure from Jewish groups, primarily AIPAC, forces Fox News to remove the story from their website. Two hours prior to the 9-11 attacks, Odigo, an Israeli company with offices just a few blocks from the World Trade Towers, receives an advance warning via the internet. The manager of the New York Office provides the FBI with the IP address of the sender of the message, but the FBI does not follow up.

2001 The FBI is investigating 5 Israeli moving companies as possible fronts for Israeli intelligence.

2001 JDL’s Irv Rubin arrested for planning to bomb a US Congressman. He dies before he can be brought to trial.

2002 The DEA issues a report that Israeli spies, posing as art students, have been trying to penetrate US Government offices.

2002 police near the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in southern Washington State stop a suspicious truck and detain two Israelis, one of whom is illegally in the United States. The two men were driving at high speed in a Ryder rental truck, which they claimed had been used to "deliver furniture." The next day, police discovered traces of TNT and RDX military-grade plastic explosives inside the passenger cabin and on the steering wheel of the vehicle. The FBI then announces that the tests that showed explosives were “false positived” by cigarette smoke, a claim test experts say is ridiculous. Based on an alibi provided by a woman, the case is closed and the Israelis are handed over to INS to be sent back to Israel. One week later, the woman who provided the alibi vanishes.

2003 The Police Chief of Cloudcroft stops a truck speeding through a school zone. The drivers turn out to be Israelis with expired passports. Claiming to be movers, the truck contains junk furniture and several boxes. The Israelis are handed over to immigration. The contents of the boxers are not revealed to the public.

2003 Israel deploys assassination squads into other countries, including the United States. The US Government does not protest.

2004 Police near the Nuclear Fuel Services plant in Tennessee stop a truck after a three mile chase, during which the driver throws a bottle containing a strange liquid from the cab. The drivers turn out to be Israelis using fake Ids. The FBI refuses to investigate and the Israelis are released.

2004 Two Israelis try to enter Kings Bay Naval Submarine Base, home to eight Trident submarines. The truck tests positive for explosives.

Musing on the origin of a major shift in American Christianity

No wonder it took 1800 years to come up with

During the period I was avidly researching Christianity and denominations I very much appreciated the scholarship and clarity of Bruce Gore.  Here (link below) he discusses dispensationalism.  At 18:20 starts on Scofield.   He leaves the explanation of the 'breathtaking' spread (and, necessarily who underwrote it) to conjecture.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvnMTDW25S4

A more direct look at Scofield and his annotated bible is provided here.  Accepting the source has a distinct pro-palestinian slant, it looks good in the whole.
http://themillenniumreport.com/2018/02/the-zionist-created-scofield-bible/
.
That article introduces Samuel Untermyer as a sponsor of Scofield.

From wiki -  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Untermyer

"Untermyer also identified as a Zionist and served as president of the
Keren Hayesod, the agency through which the movement was then and still
is conducted in America."

(also interesting ... "He took an active part in preparing the Federal Reserve Act")

"He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1904, 1908
and 1912; and delegate-at-large for the state of New York in 1916.
Accordingly, he was a strong supporter of Woodrow Wilson's administration."

Quite the sponsor!

Another link explains the significance of Untermyer and the connection with Oxford University Press - the agency which owns the Scofield bible and continued making zionist revisions even after Scofield's death.
https://www.wrmea.org/015-october/the-scofield-bible-the-book-that-made-zionists-of-americas-evangelical-christians.html

"Being a “born again” preacher did not preclude Scofield from becoming a
member of an exclusive New York men’s club in 1901, either. In his
devastating biography, The Incredible Scofield and His Book, Joseph M.
Canfield suggests, “The admission of Scofield to the Lotus Club, which
could not have been sought by Scofield, strengthens the suspicion that
has cropped up before, that someone was directing the career of C.I. Scofield.”

That someone, Canfield suspects, was associated with one of the club’s
committee members, the Wall Street lawyer Samuel Untermeyer. As Canfield
intimates, Scofield’s theology was “most helpful in getting Fundamentalist
Christians to back the international interest in one of Untermeyer's
pet projects—the Zionist Movement."

Why Oxford University Press publishing?  (Same source)

"On one of these European trips, Oxford University Press publisher Henry Frowde
“expressed immediate interest” in Scofield’s project. According to a biography
of Frowde, although the OUP publisher was “[n]ot demonstrative in his religious
views, all his Christian life he was associated with brethren known as
‘Exclusive.’” The “Exclusive Brethren” refers to the group of Christian
evangelicals that, in an 1848 split in the Plymouth Brethren, followed John
Nelson Darby, the Anglo-Irish missionary generally considered to have been
the most influential figure in the development of Christian Zionism, and a
major influence on Scofield."

Recognition ... of a sort

Since beginning this blog in earnest earlier this year the odd wordsalad 'nexttobagend' when entered into google search would point to this blog at the very top of the results.

now ...

Gee, where'd I go????

Just use DuckDuckGo ... I'm still here

Barr has no excuse

The fully documented case has been delivered to one of  his investigators.

Let's see if Barr is a white hat or swamp.

Dems would steal this election

I enjoy listening to people with political opinions quite the opposite of mine.  I appreciate real scholarship and bright minds without presuming folks so endowed are necessarily correct in all of the conclusions they proclaim.

I also enjoy observing and hearing political material with an eye towards seeing what messages are being targeted to whom.  While geo-bacheloring from an apartment in a lower-middle class neighborhood I responded to some political messages from the Obama machine (using an email address established for such activity) and began receiving spam email clearly intended for consumption by the majority in that locale.

Here's an email I got Friday as a 'loyal Obama supporter'...(can you say 'information warfare'?)

Now, to put it kindly, the track record vote by mail (not absentee ballot) is clear.

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/08/05/1-in-4-vote-by-mail-ballots-disqualified-in-new-york-city-democrat-primary/

https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/07/13/npr-analysis-65000-mail-in-votes-thrown-out-this-year-for-arriving-late/

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/08/least-846-dead-people-tried-vote-michigans-august-primary-10694-votes-rejected-democrats-want-mail-voting/

And, in all honesty, we know- from their own mouths that the DNC has relied on ballot tampering, ballot rigging, and violence in the past  -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGcfRbtgVak

So - would they tamper with 'vote by mail'  ballots this time?

Guess who the president of the Postal Workers Union hangs out with?

One can conclude the DNC is planning to create an uncertain, contested, and given the antics of their brown shirt ANTIFA and BLM  troops, bloody post first Tuesday November.

Not behavior I would expect from fellow Americans.

Update 8/25/20 - This is no small thing folks.  Hillary's comments here are worth noting -

"Hillary Clinton doesn’t want Joe Biden to concede the presidential  election “under any circumstances,” even if initial results aren’t in his favor this November.
https://twitter.com/TrumpWarRoom/status/1298037266632323073

The streets of several cities are already ablaze.  She is telling us the results will be contested - regardless.

5:30PM Sunday - Remarkable ... video has been scrubbed off the web twice, author arrested and jailed.

Excellent Questions for AG Barr

From a post on Conservativetreehouse.com
Bogeyfree says:
You mean these?
Hannity doesn’t have the guts to ask any of these. It will be 1 minute of Barr and 9 minutes of Hannity.
But just in case…..
The unanswered and seemingly ignored questions and answers from AG Barr
1. Is the Wiener Laptop still in the possession of the FBI and have you or Durham ever seen/reviewed its contents? If not why not?
2. Have you or Durham ever deposed Julian Assange? If not why not?
3. Have you or Durham examined if the FIB ever investigated the murder of Seth Rich? If not why not?
4. Does the FBI still have the 47 hard drives turned in by the Hammer WB back in 2015 and have you or Durham reviewed their contents? If not why not?
5. Was exculpatory evidence withheld by DOJ Attorneys in the Flynn case and if so why have you not pursued prosecution of this crime?
6. Do you still have Mifsud’s phones and what was on them?
7. Where is the missing Flynn 302 and isn’t it a crime to alter a 302 and if so why have you not pursued prosecution of this crime?
8. Have you or Durham ever spoken to the 2 Uranium One WB? If not, why not?
9. How many Americans were unmasked by the Obama administration and isn’t unmasking a crime? If so why have you not pursued prosecution of this crime?
10. Were there 2 Carter Page FISA with one being FBI agent Dugan’s and then other being the originally filed by the DOJ and did they have different dates on them?
11. Is leaking a FISA to the media a crime and if so why have you not pursued prosecution of this crime?
12. Is lying to a FISA Court a crime and if so why have you not pursued prosecution of this crime?
13. Have you deposed Warner and asked about his involvement if any in the FISA leak and if he told Wolfe to leak the CP FISA? If not why not?
14. Have you or Durham deposed SSA Dugan on his findings of the CP FISA leak and when will that deposition be available to the public?
15. Did you find anything relating to the CP FISA leak on Senator Burr’s phone?
16. Have you or Durham depose Crowdstrike regarding the DNC hack? If not why not?
17. Why have you not declassified all of the RR scope memo?
18. Have you or Durham done or requested a complete audit going back to 2012 of the NSA Contractor Abuse to fully see the extent of the illegal spying as documented by Adm. Rodgers small audit? If not why not?
19. Did you ever trace the PapaD frame money to see where it came from? If not why not?
20. How is it after 4 years of non stop abuse, fraud, lying, leaking, money laundering and a coup on a sitting President you and your entire DOJ team can’t seem to find one crime?

What to do when a barracade stops you

Beside being a superb marksman, the guy I respect most as a source of information on proper use of a firearm in self defense in Massad Ayoob.  Here's his piece on the subject du jour - well worth reading.

Safety glasses and ear plugs.  Good idea.

Tsunami

As much as I detest bogus 'New Apostolic Reformation' (inc.) 'prophets'  (Tom Horn, etc.) I do respect the analytical capability of a few DC watchers. (always mindful of whom they  appear to be carry water for)

Consider this from 'Gateway Pundit' -

 https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2020/08/rumors-swirling-president-trumps-recent-actions-indicate-something-huge-drop/

Which followed this from THE most sapient source on the Swamp 'Sundance' -

https://theconservativetreehouse.com/2020/08/08/the-truth-doesnt-care-about-your-feelings-the-big-ugly/

Let's face it folks.  DC has become the Vatican under Pope Borgia.  Like him or not, Trump is our Luther.

As things unfold do NOT believe what MSM and swamp dwellers (agency princes, uniparty establishment politicians, purfumed princes of the Pentagon) say Trump is doing.   Use multisource reporting (mindful of each biases) to determine what you think Trump is actually doing.

Update - 9/1/20 Barr hints there WILL be indictments beyond the hapless schlep that already pleaded guilty.  https://www.dailywire.com/news/attorney-general-william-barr-gives-update-on-criminal-charges-in-durham-investigation
