I had a sense some disaster would fall this 4th of July.
Didn’t see this coming’.
Freedom is never free.
Stealing into a nation and giving unearned citizenship to a child born of the citizens of foreign nations is not recognizing the dignity of a child, it is rewarding theft.
If someone stole your car and gave the keys to his kid - does the kid then “own” the car in the eyes of the law?
Freedom is not free.
We are a nation of immigrants, true. My family's story is common. My grandfather and his brother entered the US legally and were returned to Europe a few years later wearing Army uniforms. His brother never recovered from the experience. Subsequently my father wore a Navy uniform in WWII, his brothers in Korea and Viet Nam. I was Navy in my turn, my son nearly killed while an Army officer in Afghanistan.
This was generations of immigrants paying the price for citizenship.
Go to Arlington or your local veterans cemetery. See the many who paid in full.
And now, days before the 250th celebration of a nation founded by Christians who legally entered and settled the country, our Supreme Court hands down a decision based not on a clear interpretation of the constitution but emotion.
A staggeringly bad legal decision and an act of gross disrespect for the efforts and sacrifices of Americans for 250 years.
Two Roman Catholic do gooders with zero skin in the game gave it all away.
One of the wonders of the word is going down. No one cares enough. (1)
