 "I've always supported the 2nd Amendment" she claims."  A photogenic, female, 2nd Amendment supporting veteran.  What's not to like?

For me the interview didn’t answer “why” as much as explain “when”. I hear her and see a number of the careerist I’ve known in, and out, of the military. Individuals whose ‘deep’ beliefs are as malleable as putty when reaching that next step requires a change.

The “when” is explained by a shrewd politician’s analysis of the terrain and assessment of where to be the attractive alternative. Just as being female no doubt didn’t hinder her rise in the woke military, it is a major asset in Republican politics in 2024. It would appear this occurred to her thinking forward about her career in or around 2018.

Here’s what her record reveals:

As late as 2018 supporters were defending her as anti 2A “Tulsi has an F-rating from the NRA, a 0 percent rating by the Hawaii Rifle Association, and a 100 percent rating by the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.”

And now there’s a campaign to get her on the ticket as President Trump’s VP?

As a VP she’d be, at best, a Pence in a dress.

Seems the "Rubin Report" folks are really pushing her on us  ... can't imagine why  ...

Bottom line - Tulsi Gabbard would not be the first enormously deceptive Democrat from Hawaii to walk into the sitroom.  Stay clear of her President Trump!
