Just to be clear.  I do not 'hate' folks with gender confusion.  I do however think that folks manifesting such issues overtly are bad for unit cohesion.  Regarding 'gays',  one of the finest COs I've known was gay, quietly, as have been many courageous corpsmen.  WRT transgenders, providing folks who, as a group, are 40% suicidal, with hand grenades and machine guns places troops at risk.

And I remain against women in combat, also for unit cohesion reasons.  As a division officer, command legal officer, and Court Martial authority Flag Secretary I can attest that we took enough problems to sea with our 19 year olds without the complications of a 'coed' crew.   Non combat medical corps, intelligence, other staff positions?  Excellent!  In the trenches or on a frigate or sub?  No thank you.

But, I'm a dinosaur and that's an issue we'll have to have a real flustercluck and body count to revisit.  

DOD seems happy as is and, as noted above, continues to press 'progressive' social ideology regardless of impact on combat effectiveness.
