The introduction of the repeating firearm (particularly medium caliber carbines of military pattern - AK and ARs best example) and their presence in competent civilian hands IS the best check on totalitarian government overreach.
With courage, some skill, and such arms a populace will defeat even well equipped armies. One need only think of Viet Nam and Afghanistan for examples.
Iranians need the very same guns - and Bibles - that wanna be dictator Obama so hated.
