For many people with life threatening diseases the Doctor will advise a period of "watchful waiting" during which a new treatment will be seen to be effective or not.
That appears to be where we are today. Will Israel and Iran permit a third party, a genuine negotiator who has had to deal with the likes of organized crime, Putin, even Rosie O'Donnell in the past? (OK, maybe not so good with the last one)
Two observations:
Israel wants regime change and will do whatever it takes to achieve it. 'False flag' attacks on US soldiers or citizens by Israel are NOT unprecedented (the Lavon Affair, the USS Liberty come to mind).
