The events that took place during the Dec '24 - May '25 deployment of the Harry Truman Battle Group indicate that the pointy end of our Navy has fallen well below the standards of Battle Groups during the mid '80s. Ship handling, Flight Deck operations, coordinated Battle Group defense ... all stuff a US Navy CVBG should do well.
Currently in DC we have politicians, in and out of uniform, loudly repeating some 'JAGs' misgivings on the Commander in Chief's treatment of drug traffickers. Murderous criminals, not 'combatants', and not 'law of war' stuff. In view of the state of affairs at sea, our seditious 6 on capital hill should be more concerned about the competence of the diverse, PC, military left by Obama and Biden, and give Hegseth a hand at returning at least our Navy to the machine ADMs Tuttle and Mustin used to drive the Soviets crazy.
