There are two kinds of folks in the services – combatants and support. The latter are critical to our defense, no question, but – literally in a “support” role. The distinction is often forgotten and frequently an abstraction in the day to day peacetime, or, not deployed, at home routine. When deployed or underway conducting operations the “chain of command” matters. Often folks not in the Navy forget that the surface ships of the line, the destroyers, cruisers, and, in a fashion, the carriers, ARE the pointy end of war at sea. Everyone aboard is a combatant. They are part of an artillery unit, a front line missile unit, and reconnaissance unit. Their ship is not only an offensive weapon but a target - even accidentally – as the crew of the Stark, for example, learned the hard way. 

Anyone who has been at General Quarters for real understands this.

Creating a compromised command environment, one in which subordinates are questioning orders, will put them, and the mission, at risk. Here we have some folks describing events that took place aboard a Navy vessel underway and the 'push back' junior crew members presented to an order not stand around with the cellphones taking videos of events happening on the ship. The 'pushback' apparently was thought of as commendable by the three folks in the videoblog. 

Note that the political orientation of all three, particularly the retired, and oh so woke and delighted by events, Commander, radiates and colors all their commentary. 

The participation of a PAO and a JAG in the event as described demonstrates the appropriate role for these support specialities has blurred to the detriment of the chain of command. The request for justification of an order by crew members shows the deploying Navy was ripe for the seditious antics of Captain Kelly and his coven of traitors. 

So – well done to Obama, and all the cultural marxists who worked so diligently, and for so long, to render at least one ship (and I suspect most) questionably able to carry out the orders of a Commander in Chief not in favor with the 'Progressive' Marxists running today Democrat party, and most of our media.

For the legion of careerist, many retired, who for decades advanced subordinates based on demographics not competence (ex. in the Navy, meeting the quotas in the “envelope” at officer selection boards), who sat silently while Marxist study sessions were introduced into training, for all those who 'got along to get along'  while the rot spread,  don't expect me to say "thank you for your service".

I am very, very impressed by the document - and, more importantly, the National Security Strategy/Policy that is defined within it.  WARNING for the nomenclatura familiar with defense policy documents – this is very different.  It is intended to be read, and understood, by Americans.  It is not composed of jargon, euphemisms, it is plain 'merican english.   The perfumed princesses of progressive  policy will find it repulsive.

The events that took place during the Dec '24 - May '25 deployment of the Harry Truman Battle Group indicate that the pointy end of our Navy has fallen well below the standards of Battle Groups during the mid '80s. Ship handling,  Flight Deck operations, coordinated Battle Group defense ... all stuff a US Navy CVBG should do well.
